Description

Our client is a leading Oil, Gas and Petroleum group. They are expanding in 2012 and have a very strong reputation across the region. We are looking for an experienced Senior Level professional to join their organisation in Kuwait as the Interpreter Geophysicist. OVERVIEW OF ROLE • Taking lead on all geophysical aspects related to the progression of evaluation of exploration activities • Coordination with multi-disciplinary technical team members to insure the appropriate utilization of geophysical analysis and related technologies for the purpose of opportunity risk-reward assessment Reporting to: Supervisor/ Manager of Exploration KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Integrate regional and prospect scale geological/ geophysical/engineering data • Mature and develop exploration prospects • Develop drill proposal and recommendations • Provides subsurface interpretations within the leveraging UNIX workstation software, including Landmark software facility – Stratworks, Seisworks and etc, 3D visualization, seisworks mapping software, RPFS (reservoir properties from seismic work flow) • Responsible for developing to seismic correlations, velocity model building for time to depth conversion, acoustic and clastic inversion • Provide exploration prospect probabilistic resource estimates and assessments of geological exploration risk • Effectively work with and influence various functional groups including non- operated partners, government agencies, technical specialist, contractors and Joint Operations management • Present technical and work recommendations to team peers, explorations reviews committees, non- operated partners, and government entities • Develop interim and final written reports on technical studies performed • Transfer knowledge of skills to peers, trainees; training and developing personnel is key responsibility ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS • Must be familiar with Landmark Interpretation Software, 3D Visualisation techniques and RPFS analysis • Must have strong team work skills • Degree qualified • At least 8 years experience • 3 years in a similar role • Good communications skills - written and verbal • Effective representation of Government and partners will be critical • Ability to develop drill proposals and recommendations are essential • Travel may be required for presentations and meetings BENEFITS • Will depend on experience levels and interview performance • Competitive salary as a guide, up to $80k USD/ £50k GBP per annum total package • Should be used as a guide only and will depend on the candidate
